Kids can Create Their Own Masterpieces in Black Cat Alley this Sunday
Kids can create their own chalk masterpieces among the world-class street art on the muraled walls between East Kenilworth Place and East Ivanhoe Place on Milwaukee’s East Side.
Milwaukee, WI – Black Cat Alley will host a one-day kids chalking event this Sunday, September 29th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids can create their own chalk masterpieces among the world-class street art on the muraled walls between East Kenilworth Place and East Ivanhoe Place on Milwaukee’s East Side.
Black Cat Alley is Milwaukee’s first open-air gallery and muraled alley, so in celebration of Doors Open weekend, Black Cat Alley is opening up its sidewalks to the next generation of young artists. Children of any age are invited to create their own works of art in the alley. Sprecher root beer and Scratch ice cream will be on hand for separate purchase, or as root beer floats. Village Ace Hardware on Prospect has generously provided the chalk, so no need to bring supplies – just your creativity. This will be a low-key day of creating art, admiring murals, and enjoying the day with your little ones.
Art spaces vary in size but 2×2 spaces can be reserved online in advance for $5 at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/kids-chalk-tickets-73195073435?aff=ebdssbdestsearch and can also be reserved day-of on-site. Larger sizes are available for those who are interested. All sales go to support Black Cat Alley maintenance and programming.
