Stucks Calls Out Gallagher for Voting No to Worker Pensions

"Mike Gallagher needs to spend less time in Washington with the millionaires who got checks from his tax breaks and more time in Wisconsin with the rest of us who are paying for it."

APPLETON – Gallagher voted no to the Butch Lewis Act, a congressional measure that would fortify 300 multiemployer pension plans across the country.  Stuck, who is challenging Gallagher for his seat in Wisconsin’s Eighth Congressional District, and who works multiple jobs, insists the incumbent congressman is woefully disconnected from the realities of working people.

“Mike Gallagher needs to spend less time in Washington with the millionaires who got checks from his tax breaks and more time in Wisconsin with the rest of us who are paying for it,” Stuck said. “There are people across northeastern Wisconsin who work two, three or four jobs to try and make ends meet. I speak from my own experience working several jobs at the same time and I’m luckier than a lot of my friends and neighbors. This is just another example of Gallagher not looking out for the working families of Wisconsin. He’s voted to remove protections for those with pre-existing conditions and against lowering prescription drug costs. I’m running to stand up for families like mine.”

Amanda Stuck is running for Congress in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District. Rep. Stuck has served in the State Assembly since 2015 and is raising four children with her husband David in Appleton.
