Gov. Evers Releases Statement Relating to the Bradley Center Sports and Entertainment Corporation
The BCSEC was created by the state to own and operate the Bradley Center on behalf of the people of Wisconsin.
MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today praised the legacy of the Bradley Center and the vision of Jane Bradley Pettit as the Bradley Center Sports and Entertainment Corporation (BCSEC) announced the completion of its business affairs and the transfer of remaining assets totaling $4.29 million to the state of Wisconsin.
“I’ve said all along that Milwaukee’s economic success is linked to our state’s economic success, and with the Milwaukee Bucks and Marquette Golden Eagles doing exceptionally well, on top of the Brewers’ season last year, the enthusiasm around Milwaukee’s exceptional sports and entertainment scene continues to be critically important,” Gov. Evers said. “That enthusiasm is due in large part to the efforts surrounding the Bradley Center when the future of sports in our state’s largest city was uncertain. We owe a great deal of thanks to Jane Bradley Pettit and all those who partnered with the organization to make sure Milwaukee has had a first-rate sports and entertainment center since 1988.”
The BCSEC was created by the state to own and operate the Bradley Center on behalf of the people of Wisconsin. It submitted final audited financial statements to Gov. Evers and other state officials on Thursday.
“Back in the mid-80s, Jane Bradley Pettit and the many partners who joined her in supporting the Bradley Center had a steadfast belief in the future of Milwaukee as a big-league city,” Gov. Evers said. “The exciting times we’re witnessing now proves they were right. We appreciate the work of the Bradley Center Board and staff over the years, and look forward to the next chapter of greatness unfolding now in Milwaukee.”
