Milwaukee Alders rally behind JoCasta Zamarripa in race to be next 8th District Alderwoman
"I’m honored to have the support of so many strong leaders in the City of Milwaukee."
MILWAUKEE – JoCasta Zamarripa, candidate for Milwaukee Alderwoman in Milwaukee’s 8th District, announced the endorsement of six sitting Milwaukee Alders: Bob Bauman, Nikiya Dodd, Chevy Johnson, Nik Kovac, José Pérez, and Tony Zielinski.
“I have had the pleasure of working with JoCasta for many years, she is deeply committed to our community, and I know she would be an asset on the Common Council. I look forward to working with her to get things done,” said José Pérez, Alderman of Milwaukee’s 12th District.
“I’m honored to have the support of so many strong leaders in the City of Milwaukee,” said Rep. Zamarripa. “I was born and raised on Milwaukee’s near south side, and this community has made me who I am today. I’m ready to get to work and earn the trust of the voters of the 8th Aldermanic District.”
State Rep. JoCasta Zamarripa announced last month she’s filed to run for 8th District Alderwoman in the City of Milwaukee in April of 2020. Zamarripa has represented the near south side of Milwaukee in the State Assembly for nine years. She was the first Latina woman elected to the state Legislature.
