Rep. Taylor statement on PSC rejection of solar
The Wisconsin Public Service Commission recently suspended the Focus on Energy program’s solar electric and solar hot water incentives for the remainder of the year for Wisconsin home projects.
MADISON – The Wisconsin Public Service Commission recently suspended the Focus on Energy program’s solar electric and solar hot water incentives for the remainder of the year for Wisconsin home projects. Below is Rep. Chris Taylor’s (D-Madison) statement on the decision:
“Why the Public Service Commission would provide a 19th century answer to a 21st century problem is beyond me. The solar industry creates jobs, stimulates the economy and doesn’t harm our planet nor the tourism industry. Republicans cannot claim to support private businesses and job creation while creating public policies that generate instability in the renewable marketplace.
To penalize an entire sector of the renewable energy industry is damaging to what should be everyone’s long-term goal: weaning ourselves off a reliance on coal.
“Around the Capitol these days you hear a lot of job creation talk and not a lot of action. If Republicans want to create jobs, they should double-down on renewable energy.”
