Verdant Opens in Bay View

Nov. 19, 2018 (Milwaukee) – Is CBD oil the new avocado toast? OK, it might not have that cult following — but there’s no question the recent crop of hemp-derived products has Americans buzzing. One product in particular is all the rage, for good reason, and a new Milwaukee business is ready to market this product with a personalized, upscale boutique experience in Bay View.

Verdant – CBD Products for Mind and Body is now open at 2680 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., in Milwaukee’s popular Bay View neighborhood. According to owner James Valona, the boutique offers CBD products with the highest standards of quality control on the market. Verdant is also the only retailer in the United States that sells a hop-based oil, which contains zero THC.

“Our safe and non-addictive CBD-based products undergo stringent testing for quality and are produced under the strict guidelines of the Department of Agriculture’s Hemp Pilot Research Programs,” says Valona, who notes not all businesses that sell CBD products require such rigorous testing. “Verdant is dedicated to selling only the finest CBD-based products for health and wellness, and to providing an educational experience in a non-intimidating setting to all of our guests.”

Last year, consumer sales of CBD products topped $350 million in the U.S. — more than triple the amount sold in 2014. The term CBD is a nickname for cannabidiol, which is one of several chemical compounds that are found in hemp plants. Because CBD is not psychoactive, it does not create the same “high-flying” effects associated with marijuana. It’s the pain relief that has more and more individuals who suffer from chronic pain and illness turning to this plant-based alternative to traditional medicine.

“Clinical tests show CBD products address a wide range of health concerns, from pain relief and sleep issues to anxiety and depression,” says Valona, whose private label oils are produced in an FDA- compliant facility and are tested by third parties for safety and quality. “CBD oils and creams can lower blood pressure, possess anti-inflammatory properties, reduce the risk of diabetes and even have anti-seizure properties. The list goes on and on.”

Verdant will hold a Grand Opening Celebration on Nov. 24 — Small Business Saturday — from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with 20 percent off all products.
