I-43 Rehabilitation Project lane closures for September 4 to September 7

Traffic restrictions on I-43 in Ozaukee County

(Port Washington) The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region announces I-43 Rehabilitation Project lane closures and restrictions from September 4 to September 7 in Ozaukee County. Drivers should be aware of reduced speed limits on the posted detour routes and remember to use caution while traveling through any work zone. This advisory does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

Traffic Impacts:

  • FULL CLOSURE – Northbound I-43 between Arrowhead Road to Pebble Beach Road will be closed nightly, Tuesday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. and nightly, Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
    • Detour: Northbound I-43 will exit at WIS 60, take WIS 60 west to County W, follow County W north to WIS 32/Spring Street to County LL and follow County LL north to WIS 32/Sauk Trail Road back to northbound I-43
    • Detour: Northbound I-43 traffic seeking WIS 57 should exit at WIS 60, take WIS 60 west to County W, follow County W north to WIS 57
  • Northbound and southbound I-43 between WIS 32/County V and northern Ozaukee County line will have daytime and nighttime single lane closures throughout the week.

Construction details for this project will be provided on the Southeast Region Project website at https://projects.511wi.gov/i43diamond/.  Motorists should slow down, be patient and pay attention to their surroundings in this and all work zones.
