Maintenance work to begin along Mitchell Interchange in Milwaukee County
The contractor, Payne & Dolan, Inc., is planning on completing the $2.8 million contract by this fall.
Beginning the evening of Thursday, August 23, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to begin routine maintenance within the Mitchell Interchange in Milwaukee County. Improvements to this interchange will span from south of College Avenue, west of 35th Street, and north to Howard Avenue.
Scope of Work
- Rout and seal repairs
- High Friction Surface Treatment application along eastbound I-894 to southbound I-94 curve
- Barrier wall replacement
What to Expect
- To help minimize traffic impacts, most work will occur during the overnight hours. This includes several necessary full freeway closures.
- Any temporary lane restrictions or ramp closures are scheduled to occur during nightly off-peak hours.
- Various detours will be posted that correspond with current work operations.
