MILWAUKEE – Scale Up Milwaukee, an initiative of the Greater Milwaukee Committee supported by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp., has entered into a new partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Lubar School of Business to provide programming designed to teach business owners practical skills to inject growth into their ventures.

Select faculty from the Lubar School of Business will participate in Scale Up’s five-month training program known as the Scale Up Milwaukee Growth Accelerator. Formerly known as the “Scalerator,” the program is accepting applications for its fifth cohort of business owners interested in identifying new ways to spur growth and development within their respective organizations.

Applications for the Scale Up Milwaukee Growth Accelerator are being accepted through May 4th. Applicants can visit www.scaleupmilwaukee.org/growthaccelerator for more information and to submit an application.

“We’re very excited to partner with the Lubar School of Business at UWM and provide a very strong connection between expert faculty members at southeast Wisconsin’s largest university and local business owners,” said Elmer Moore, executive director of Scale Up Milwaukee. “Scale Up is making a distinct impact on business growth in southeast Wisconsin, helping entrepreneurs identify new ways to achieve ongoing growth. We expect that to continue through this new partnership.”

To date, the Growth Accelerator program has helped 57 participating companies from around southeastern Wisconsin experience significant growth with more than 700 new hires and 23 percent projected annual revenue growth. Also collectively, graduates leveraged nearly $25 million in new financing in 2017.

The Scale Up Growth Accelerator will continue focusing on three primary areas: sales and marketing, finance and operations, and management, while adding content covering matters related to establishing a productive corporate culture in addition to attracting and retaining talent.

In addition to faculty members from the Lubar School of Business, the Growth Accelerator works with investors, banks, professional services firms, universities and public sector stakeholders to support growth.
