Aldermen Peréz expresses his condolences after a fatal hit-and-run crash
Statement by Aldermen José G. Peréz - February 5, 2018
A hit-and-run accident has taken the life of a 43-year-old woman and injured a 13 year-old boy near 15th St. and W. Lincoln Ave. The driver of the truck ran away from the scene.
First and foremost, my prayers and regrets to the family of the victim. I know that our churches and our community will rally around this boy who has lost his mother. I want to say clearly that I will work night and day with the police to bring this reckless driver to justice.
If you know anything, please contact the police immediately. Our community will come together around this tragedy but this type of nonsense will not be tolerated.
