"Gov. Walker is spending taxpayer money like he’s got holes in his pockets."

EAU CLAIRE – Dana Wachs responded to the news released today that Gov. Walker plans to spend millions more taxpayer money to attract out-of-state workers for the planned Foxconn factory:

“Gov. Walker is spending taxpayer money like he’s got holes in his pockets. First, Walker signs of the dotted line with Foxconn and agrees to pay Chairman Gou $3 billion of our hard-earned money. Now he wants to spend millions more to recruit workers from other states to move to Wisconsin to work at this factory. What do they plan to do with the $3 billion they are taking out of our wallets? This has to stop.

“Gov. Walker sold a bill of goods to the Wisconsin public by saying it would create new jobs for Wisconsinites. Apparently, what he really means was that the jobs would go to workers from Chicago. Wisconsin deserves better than Gov. Walker.

“We can grow the economy and create more good-paying jobs for Wisconsinites without giving away $3 billion. We can raise the wages of Wisconsin workers. It can be done, but this is not the way. Gov. Walker is hoping this corporate giveaway is his Hail Mary pass, but, believe me, Walker is no Aaron Rodgers.”

  1. Thomas says:

Good work, Dana Wachs, at calling out the absurdity of Walker’s largesse with corporate welfare. Residents of S.E. WI should be the first to be considered for jobs at Foxxconn. Training as needed would be available at MATC.

  2. Dragoncat says:

Instead its not, and thanks WI for the 16 million dollars to train foxconn workers at University of Illinois at Chicago
