The Westown Farmers’ Market Hosts Children’s Day
Children of all ages are welcome for this free event
MILWAUKEE —The Westown Association would like to welcome children of all ages to enjoy Children’s Day at the Westown Farmers’ Market from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 16 in Zeidler Union Square (on Michigan Street between 3rd and 4th Streets). The Westown Farmers’ Market takes place every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through October 25th.
Children’s Day includes entertainment by balloon artist John Peter Lindsay, arts and crafts with Artists Working in Education, story time with the Milwaukee Public Library and a performance from the Glencastle Irish Dancers. All supplies will be provided for the craft activities and completed projects can be taken home to enjoy! This is a free event open to the public, no reservations are necessary.
The Milwaukee Public Library will kick off the event at 10 a.m. with story time in the gazebo. Following story time, Artists Working in Education will have arts and crafts from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. At 11 a.m., balloon artist Peter John Lindsay will begin his act with unique balloon creations. At noon, the Glencastle Irish Dancers will perform.
While the kids enjoy the activities at Children’s Day, parents and guardians can shop the market for local art, prepared foods, Wisconsin produce and more! When the kids are done with their activities, the whole family can enjoy lunch from one of the market’s popular lunch vendors.
