Supervisor Alexander Lends Support to Encourage Adoption
National Adoption Day is November 17
Supervisor Deanna Alexander, District 18, is set to observe National Adoption Day, tomorrow, Friday, November 16, 2012 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Milwaukee County Children’s Court Vel R. Phillips Juvenile Justice Center at 10201 W Watertown Plank Road in Wauwatosa.
Supervisor Alexander plans to join Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services, Milwaukee County Children’s Court Judiciary, the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office and the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare.
“As a mother, I highly value the strong foundation provided by family,” said Supervisor Alexander. “As a Milwaukee County policymaker, I’m committed to supporting adoption as well as the families who chose it as an option for sharing their homes, hearts and love.”
The Milwaukee County National Adoption Day event is a celebration for the families who are having an adoption finalization on November 16th.
A program featuring speakers and reception will highlight the celebration, as well as activities for the children and family portraits.
Jockey International will provide monogrammed Backpacks stuffed with toys, books and blankets.
Children being adopted will receive other gifts from Judges and agencies as well.
