South 27th Street in final phase of construction
Fully open to three lanes in each direction
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has entered its final phase of the WIS 241 (S.27th Street) project, in time for the holiday shopping season. The reconstruction project stretches from south of Drexel Avenue to north of College Avenue, in Milwaukee County.
Access during the holiday season:
- Three lanes of traffic within the project limits on WIS 241 northbound and southbound are fully open to traffic.
- All east/west turning movements are open to traffic.
Crews are continuing to install permanent signals and signage, while finalizing some restoration work. This work may require periodic short-term daytime lane closures.
All other project work has been completed and WIS 241 is Open for Business!
