Orchid Show & Sale at The Domes, Sept. 17, 18

Milwaukee, WI (Aug. 25, 2016) – Flowering orchids of all shapes and sizes will be on display at the 38th “Fall in Love with Orchids,” an orchid show and sale by the Wisconsin Orchid Society, Sept. 17 and 18, at the Mitchell Park Domes, 524 S. Layton Blvd. Show and sale hours are Saturday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.

Exhibits include award-winning flowering orchid plants, pottery, photographs, and other orchid-related items. Members of the Wisconsin Orchid Society and regional orchid societies will be on hand to answer questions about growing orchids.

Presentations are scheduled both days. Saturday, Alison Fortney will present “Orchid Photography” at 10 a.m., and Bruce Efflandt will present “Corsage Making” at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Fortney will repeat her presentation at 10 a.m., Mary Stewart will present “How To Properly Repot Your Orchid” at 1 p.m., and Efflandt will repeat “Corsage Making” at 2 p.m.

Local, regional, and national vendors will offer favorite orchids for sale. Also available for purchase will be pots, books, potting medium, and T-shirts.

Vendors at the show include Alison Grace Photography, Anything Orchids, B&H, Goin’ to Pot Orchids & Repotting Service, Natt’s Orchids, Oakwood Orchids, Orchid Trading Company, and Porter’s Orchids.

Additional exhibitors include the Batavia Orchid Society, Eastern Iowa Orchid Society, Illinois Orchid Society, Northeastern Wisconsin Orchid Society, Orchid Growers Guild–Madison, Walter Crawford and Claire Rojohn, and the Wisconsin Orchid Society.

Admission to “Fall in Love with Orchids” is included in the current regular admission to the Show Dome, which is $3 per person and free to children age 5 and under and members of Friends of the Domes. No additional discounts apply.

The Wisconsin Orchid Society welcomes new members. The group meets monthly in the Milwaukee area.
