Public meeting for I-894 resurfacing study

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region is announcing a public involvement meeting to discuss and obtain public input on the I-894 resurfacing study. The corridor study covers I-894, from Lincoln Avenue to 84^th Street, in the communities of West Allis, Milwaukee and Greenfield. WisDOT is conducting the study due to the original freeway being built in the 1960s and its last rehabilitation project taking place in 2003. The pavement in this area has since deteriorated and needs resurfacing. The current study is conducting engineering analysis with construction anticipated for 2018 pending funding.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Irving Elementary School located at 10230 W. Grant Street, West Allis, WI 53227. The meeting will follow an open house format where WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis. WisDOT encourages property and business owners, interested citizens and other stakeholders to attend the meeting.
