State Representative Zepnick named League of Conservation Voters “Conservation Champion” with 100% voting record

South Side of Milwaukee Democrat Josh Zepnick announced the League of Conservation Voters 2016 “Conservation Champion” selection based on his 100% voting record during the Legislative Session.
Zepnick is the most senior member of the Energy and Utilities Committee and co-authored the Clean Energy Jobs Act which stalled in the State Senate in 2010. The legislation was designed to expand renewable energy sources and conservation in residential and commercial facilities, as well as stimulate the “clean energy jobs market” by investing in job training and economic development for businesses going green.
Zepnick was also part of the Legislative vote to accept millions of energy efficiency dollars under the Federal ARRA stimulus package, which helped create the Milwaukee Energy Efficiency (ME2) program run by the City of Milwaukee. That program has saved homeowners thousands of dollars on their energy bills, employed hundreds of workers and made more South Side homes valuable and attractive. Zepnick has also led the way on state programs like Focus on Energy and public oversight for utility customers.
