MILWAUKEE (April 28, 2016) – To encourage a sense of wanderlust, Kimpton’s first Milwaukee hotel, The Kimpton Journeyman, will open with both an exciting offer for those traveling by train, as well as a way to explore the city with locally made leather backpacks complete with curated itineraries.

The Journeyman is now offering Ride the Rails, designed to kick off the perfect weekend jaunt from Chicago or any Amtrak city. Guests can now book Ride the Rails, which offers 20 percent off the best available rate during the month of July and 5 to 10 percent off the best available rate for the rest of the year. Guests will need to show their Amtrak ticket at check-in to receive the deal.

“The Journeyman is the perfect place to get away from it all,” says Patrick Gaskin, the hotel’s General Manager. “With an emerging culinary scene, renowned art galleries and the world-famous Summerfest, Milwaukee’s Third Ward has a little something for everyone. We’re very excited to call one of the most talked about cities in the country home.”

The Journeyman has also partnered with Milwaukee-based leather artisan Heather Hambrecht, designer of (h(om)e), and will offer her custom-made leather backpacks for guests inspired to explore Milwaukee. Each leather bag, which can also be carried as a stylish tote, will come with a Milwaukee itinerary curated by the staff for a “journey” around the city. Each itinerary will be tailored to the length of stay and offer everything from the best boutiques to little-known cafes. Guests will also have the option to fill their backpacks with seasonal provisions from the hotel’s restaurant, Tre Rivali. The partnership with Hambrecht is the first of many that The Journeyman will establish in the community.
