Citizen Action, Ironworkers Local #8 Endorse Chevy Johnson

Chevy Johnson has been endorsed by a number of labor unions, progressive organizations, neighbors and elected officials.

MILWAUKEE- Chevy Johnson, candidate for alderperson in Milwaukee’s Second District, is proud to announce the endorsements of Citizen Action of Wisconsin and AFL-CIO Ironworkers Local #8. 

“Citizen Action believes Chevy Johnson is prepared to tackle one of the most serious challenges facing Milwaukee, the chronic shortage of family supporting jobs,” stated Matt Brusky, Deputy Director at Citizen Action of Wisconsin. “Milwaukee’s working families need a champion at City Hall. We believe we have found one in Chevy Johnson. Chevy will require job standards for all City development projects, like the arena, to encourage the creation of more family supporting jobs in Milwaukee.”

Chevy Johnson has been endorsed by a number of labor unions, progressive organizations, neighbors and elected officials. Chevy will face four opponents on the Tuesday February 16th Primary Election. 

“I am very honored to have earned the endorsements of the good folks at Citizen Action and Ironworkers Local #8,” commented Johnson. “I have focused our campaign on advocating for solutions to some of our most pressing problems. I want to focus on improving our infrastructure, increasing public safety and sustainable economic development that encourages family supporting jobs.”

Chevy Johnson recently served as Staff Assistant to the Mayor of Milwaukee. A long time resident of the 2nd district, Chevy is committed to bringing responsible, accessible and dependable leadership to the Milwaukee Common Council. The primary election is February 16th, 2016‬ and the general election is April 5th, 2016‬.
