Sydney Hih No More

Although, the iconic letters were removed from the Sydney Hih building earlier this week, the Sydney Hih stands for another day, thanks to yesterday’s successful petition for interim historic designation.  The photos below were taken as  Jeremy Fojut, of ART Milwaukee, collected the letters as they were coming down from the top of the Sydney Hih.  If the complex is demolished the letters will become a public art memorial to the music, art, and counter culture that the Sydney Hih represents to so many.  In the meantime you can see the letters in person at ART Milwaukee’s offices in the Shops of Grand Avenue.
