Senate Democrats Win First Senate Majority in Over 15 Years

MADISON, WI – After sweeping every competitive race two years ago to break a Republican supermajority, Wisconsin Senate Democrats are poised to sweep targeted Senate districts tonight, securing the first Democratic Senate majority in over 15 years.

Soon-to-be Majority Leader Dianne Hesselbein on tonight’s victories and winning a majority in the State Senate:

“For two years we’ve said that the Wisconsin Senate was the most flippable chamber in the country, and tonight voters across the state proved that to be true. We’re grateful that Wisconsinites have placed their trust in Senate Democrats to deliver progress in our state; now it’s time to get to work cutting costs and building a stronger future for our hardworking men and women.”
