Brookfield, WI (November 10, 2014) A sold-out concert event from the group that Simon Cowell declared “absolutely brilliant” comes to the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts (Wilson Center) this Wednesday, November 12. The Wilson Center is thrilled to present the United Kingdom’s top jive and swing band The Jive Aces as the second performance in our 2014/15 Matinee Series.

Although Swingtime: The Jive Aces & The Tinseltown Jitterbugs is sold out, a waiting list is available through the Wilson Center Box Office at (262) 781-9520 for the Wednesday, 1:00 pm performance. Tickets are $18-$23, including a $2 per ticket facility fee.

Audiences at the Wilson Center’s Swingtime performance will delight in jitterbug dancing couples grooving to the timeless tunes of the swing era and the glitz of the Rat Pack, with a dash of rhythm & blues, swing, and jazz – including songs by greats Cab Calloway, Benny Goodman, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong, and Ella Fitzgerald, along with a selection of superb originals.

Since their dazzling 2012 Britain’s Got Talent appearance, the six-piece band’s brilliant musicianship and infectious energy has awed audiences at thousands of festivals, theaters, and events throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States, as well as Japan, Israel, and the Caribbean – 30 countries in the group’s ten-year career together. The yellow-suited sextet has worked with such stars as Van Morrison, John Travolta, Isaac Hayes, Lisa Marie Presley, and many others.

Their forthcoming album King of the Swingers: A Salute to Louis Prima was recorded in Hollywood, California, and features special guests such as Kenny Ball, Ray Gelato, and Toni Elizabeth Prima (daughter of Louis Prima and Keely Smith) and includes their hit version of the classic “Bring Me Sunshine” – the video of which now has more than 2 million views on YouTube and has won seven film festival awards.

The Wilson Center’s 2014/15 Matinee Series is sponsored by Lynn Chappy, Becker Ritter Funeral Homes, and First Bank Financial Centre.
