New Report Finds Inflation on Many Everyday Items Was Entirely Due to Tariffs Congressman Tom Tiffany Voted to Protect
MADISON, Wis. — New reporting reveals that Tom Tiffany-backed tariffs are totally to blame for inflation-related cost spikes on everyday items. Wisconsinites have seen essential costs like food and gas rise quickly, squeezing working families and seniors on fixed incomes, and Wisconsin retailers are struggling as shoppers are forced to scale back purchasing as a result of inflation-tightened budgets.
“Congressman Tom Tiffany bears the burden for making Wisconsinites choose between groceries or healthcare. Inflation has driven prices so high as a result of tariffs that budgets are now impossibly tight thanks to Tiffany’s support,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “Time and time again, Congressman Tiffany has voted to protect tariffs and Trump’s agenda instead of protecting Wisconsinites from painful choices and strained budgets.”
Congressman Tiffany voted seven times to protect Trump’s tariffs even as Wisconsin companies and consumers paid approximately $3.5 billion in tariffs between March and December 2025. Tiffany has even admitted tariffs would cause Wisconsinites pain, saying “there have been some people that have been hurt by the tariffs, there’s no doubt about it.”
