KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Marquette University men’s soccer freshman forward Tomiwa Adewumi has been named to the 2026 MAC Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List, the United Soccer Coaches announced. Adewumi is one of just 30 players nationally selected to the prestigious list recognizing the top players in NCAA Division I men’s soccer.

The MAC Hermann Trophy is college soccer’s highest individual honor and is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club to the National Player of the Year. The award is voted on by NCAA Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.

Adewumi, a freshman from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has enjoyed a breakout debut season for the Golden Eagles. The 6-foot-2 forward leads Marquette with eight goals and 19 points through 10 matches, helping the program post one of the nation’s most efficient attacks. He ranks fourth nationally in total points and total goals, and is sixth in points per game (1.90) and ninth in goals per game (0.80). Adewumi’s 19 points is the most most by a Marquette player since Luka Prpa had 26 in 2016.

A product of the Sporting Kansas City Academy, Adewumi has made an immediate impact in Milwaukee after arriving on campus this fall. He is the lone freshman on this year’s midseason watch list and is one four players from the BIG EAST on the list.

The 2026 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List was compiled by members of the Hermann Trophy Midseason Watch List Committee. Fifteen semifinalists will be announced on Dec. 4 following the conclusion of Division I All-America voting. Three finalists will then be selected, with the winner set to be announced Jan. 8, 2027, at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
