Packers Announce Roster Moves
The Green Bay Packers signed G Laken Tomlinson (LAY-kin) to the active roster from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad, signed G Mekhi Becton Sr. (meh-KAI) to the practice squad, placed OL Zach Bako-Bewele (bah-koe bee-well-ay) on injured reserve and released DT Eric Johnson II from the practice squad. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Monday.
Tomlinson (6-3, 316), a 12th-year player out of Duke, was originally selected by the Detroit Lions in the first round (No. 28 overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He has played for the Lions (2015-16), San Francisco 49ers (2017-21), New York Jets (2022-23), Seattle Seahawks (2024) and Houston Texans (2025), appearing in 173 regular-season games with 162 starts as well as starting all seven postseason contests he has appeared in. Tomlinson also spent time last season on the practice squad of the Baltimore Ravens. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2021 after blocking for a 49ers offense that averaged a league-best 6.1 yards per play. Tomlinson will wear No. 74 for the Packers.
Becton (6-7, 357), a seventh-year player out of the University of Louisville, was originally selected by the New York Jets in the first round (No. 11 overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has played for the Jets (2020-23), Philadelphia Eagles (2024) and Los Angeles Chargers (2025), appearing in 61 games with 59 starts during the regular season as well as starting all five postseason contests he appeared in. Becton has started games at guard and tackle during his NFL career. In 2024, he was part of a line that paved the way for RB Saquon Barkley to set career highs in carries (345), rushing yards (2,005) and rushing TDs (13) and win NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors. Becton will wear No. 70 for the Packers.
