Too bad there aren’t any jobs for US merchant mariners on the Great Lakes anymore.
How are there not any merchant marine jobs? do the ships unload themselves?
I wonder how many invasive species hitched a ride.
It’s time to close off the lakes.
@Ron Mexico, um yes, most of the time they do, they are called “machines” and the few jobs left running them are done by longshoremen, not merchant marine. Most boats on the Great Lakes have much less crew and/or foreign crews. There is a reason there are so many unemployed guys in places like Ashland, Washburn, Superior etc…a generation ago their brothers and fathers had good jobs on the ore boats, not anymore.
