Paula Suozzi
This first installment of Mark's extended podcast series focuses on Paula Suozzi, a former theater/opera director who's recently become a personal trainer.

Paula Suozzi, formerly a prolific opera and theater director in Milwaukee, is now a certified lifeguard/swim teacher and a trainer and weight management coach at Starting Line Athletics. Photo provided by Paula Suozzi.
Paula Suozzi has been many things during her time in Milwaukee. A freelance director of theater and opera. Artistic director of Milwaukee Shakespeare and associate artistic director at the Skylight. And now, an Ironman triathlete, certified lifeguard/swim instructor, and personal trainer and weight management coach at Starting Line Athletics.
Quite the shift.
In this first installment of our new, extended-length podcast series, Paula and I talked about coming to Milwaukee, her experience as a director in the city and her transition to her new career.
“Backstage with Mark Metcalf,” a 2011 Milwaukee Press Club award-winner, is engineered and produced by Sahan Jayasuriya. (This week’s installment originally recorded by Dan Shafer.) The weekly series, focusing on many of Milwaukee’s behind-the-scenes personalities, alternates between short (10-15 min.) and long (25-30 min.) segments.
