Paula Suozzi, formerly a prolific opera and theater director in Milwaukee, is now a certified lifeguard/swim teacher and a trainer and weight management coach at Starting Line Athletics. Photo provided by Paula Suozzi.

Paula Suozzi has been many things during her time in Milwaukee. A freelance director of theater and opera. Artistic director of Milwaukee Shakespeare and associate artistic director at the Skylight. And now, an Ironman triathlete, certified lifeguard/swim instructor, and personal trainer and weight management coach at Starting Line Athletics.

Quite the shift.

In this first installment of our new, extended-length podcast series, Paula and I talked about coming to Milwaukee, her experience as a director in the city and her transition to her new career.
