This year, the Milwaukee Comedy Festival
celebrates its largest event to date. Beginning with a kick-off party on Thursday, August 2
, the folks at Milwaukee Comedy are putting on nine days of comedy spanning two weekends in the dog days of August. The Comedy Festival, now in its seventh year, is Wisconsin’s largest comedy event, and the sheer amount of acts included is a testament to a growing scene for comedy here in Milwaukee.
Among this year’s performers is Milwaukee native Will Durst, who’s column, “Durst Case Scenario” is posted each Wednesday on ThirdCoast Digest along with many publications nationwide, including the Huffington Post. (Click here to listen to my conversation with Will Durst after the New Hampshire primary earlier this year.)
To preview this year’s Comedy Festival, I sat down with festival co-producers Matt Kemple and Patrick Schmitz along with Melissa Kingston of Broadminded Comedy.
