Few places in Milwaukee are more highly respected than the venues of the Pabst Theater Foundation. Between the Riverside, Pabst Theater and Turner Hall Ballroom, the Foundation is able to present a multitude of shows to a wide range of Milwaukee audiences.

Currently, the folks at the Pabst Theater are wrapping up their third year presenting “Fish Fry and a Flick” at Discovery World on Friday, Sept. 23 with a showing of Bridesmaids, and gearing up for a loaded fall schedule that features the Smashing Pumpkins (Oct. 13), the Avett Brothers (Nov. 18-19), and Wilco (Dec. 9).

Tiffany Coris of the Pabst Theater Foundation stopped by to talk about the upcoming events at the Pabst and also to give us an inside look at the historic venues; from couples who have their wedding at Turner Hall to backstage catering for artists at the Riverside. Beyond having a sous chef and a pastry chef preparing artists’ meals backstage, they also have a personal Alterra Coffee barista.

“Artists really get a kick out of that,” said Coris. “Alterra has some of their best baristas come and make personal coffees for the artists that come. And sometimes they’re so impressed with it they end up ordering Alterra from the road.”

The Pabst has a truly exciting lineup scheduled for “Rocktober,” as they call it, and on into next year. For the full schedule of events, click here, or sign up for their mailing list.
