A video Christmas card from Elizabeth Johnson and YMD

The utter sincerity, noble humility and ingenious invention of Elizabeth Johnson’s 2 Good 2 Last ought to make it an instant holiday classic. Johnson’s Your Mother Dances company premiered it last weekend (Dec. 17-19) in a brief run in a small space at UWM. A few hundred people saw this beautiful setting of songs from Harry Belafonte’s ’60s-vintage Christmas album, but everyone ought to see it once a year — forever.

I’m pleased to pass along this brief excerpt as a video Christmas card from Johnson, YMD and videographer Keith Knox to all our TCD readers. May you enjoy in your own holidays the warmth and beauty embodied in this dance and music.
