DESCRIPTION:Jazz in the Park is Going Virtual! Jazz in the Park has been produced by East Town Association in Downtown Milwaukee’s Cathedral Square Park in every summer since 1991. 29 years into this tradition\, we can’t let the summer slip through our fingers without a few evenings of “Jazz.” Make a date to join us virtually in a grassy spot near you\, and donate to sustain our organization and keep the music playing if you can. Since then the Break has performed at many different festivals including Summerfest\, Bastille Days\, Center Street Days\, Brady Street fest\, and River Rhythms just to name a few. They have also performed with many local and national acts such as Marsha Ambrosia\, J Holiday\, Eric Roberson and Conya Doss. They often perform at weddings\, birthday parties\, the mayor’s ball as well as sorority balls. Cigarette Break consists of 5 members: Tim Ricketts (founder and bassist)\, Olen Franklin (music director and drummer)\, Darrien Williams (lead guitarist)\, Eric Lock (keyboardist) and Tobias Cannon (saxophonist). You can catch them performing at music venues and halls throughout Milwaukee such as Mr Js lounge and hall\, Brownstone Social lounge and Truth Lounge. \nWe encourage you to share selfies of your socially distanced Jazz in the Park backyard picnic and connect with us and our beloved Jazz in the Park partners digitally. SUMMARY:Yacht Blast For Kids 2020 Boat Parade
DESCRIPTION:Since its Inception in 2009\, Yacht Blast for Kids has granted 231 wishes for deserving Wish Kids through Make-A-Wish Wisconsin. For the past 12 years\, generous boat owners taken wish families out on their yachts for a special day on the water. \nDue to COVID-19\, Yacht Blast For Kids 2020 will look different than years past. This year\, Yacht Blast For Kids will be a boat parade which will depart from the lake near the Calatrava at 1 p.m. on Sunday\, August 30th and make its way under the Hoan Bridge\, up the river\, and will turn around near the Milwaukee Ale House. \nThe community is asked to find a spot on the lakeshore or on the riverwalk and enjoy a boat parade\, which will feature some of Milwaukee’s best vessels\, and of course make a donation to this fundraiser at yachtblast.org. \nIf you’re a boater and would like to be involved please complete this short form: bit.ly/yachtblast \nFor more information on the boat parade\, or to donate please go to yachtblast.org or email Kelsey at krice@wisconsin.wish.org.
