SUMMARY:In the Next Room or the vibrator play
DESCRIPTION:In a seemingly perfect\, well-to-do Victorian home\, proper gentleman and scientist Dr. Givings has innocently invented an extraordinary new device for treating “hysteria” in women (and occasionally men): the vibrator. Adjacent to the doctor’s laboratory\, his young wife tries to tend to their newborn daughter—and wonders what exactly is going on in the next room. From Sarah Ruhl\, one of the most influential playwrights of this century\, comes a smart\, classy and electrifying comedy about longing\, intimacy and what it truly means to love someone. \nAssociate Sponsors Helen Forster and Sandy Zingler\nCo-Sponsors Judges John and Jean DiMotto and Val and Gary Zamecnik \nCast\nFeaturing \nMaggie Cramer as Catherine Givings \nWill Mobley as Dr. Givings \nElyse Edelman as Sabrina Daldry \nLibby Amato as Annie \nJoe Picchetti as Leo Irving \nDee Dee Batteast as Elizabeth \nChase Stoeger as Mr. Daldry \nUnderstudies \nCatherine Givings – Caroline Norton\, Annie – Megan Kaminsky\, Leo Irving – Mason Hanizeski\, Mr. Daldry – Shayne Patrick \nCreative Team\nLaura Rook\, Director \nJason Fassl\, Scenic and Lighting Designer \nKyLee Hennes\, Assistant Scenic Designer \nJason Orlenko\, Costume Designer \nDana Rochester\, Wig Designer \nAndy Hansen\, Sound Designer \nJim Guy\, Properties Designer \nBecca Broh\, Intimacy Director \nMerit Glover\, Stage Manager \nStar Howard\, Assistant Stage Manager
