The presentation will be followed by discussion and stories. \nJ. Philip Grygny is an independent artist/scholar interested in the intersections of art\, science\, nature\, and culture. In 2017\, he founded the Performance Ecology Project to explore how artistic and contemplative practices can deepen our relationship with the living world. His work was been published by the Center for Humans and Nature\, and has been reported on in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel\, the Shepherd Express\, and Wisconsin Public Radio.

Milwaukee’s own Mike Delfar and Paul Koepke\, all Professional kite flyers\, will also be performing. Free Kite Flying lessons from the Kite Whispererer\, Brett Williams and Jim Cosca. \nWe will also be giving away free kites to the first 100 kids that participate in the Mad City Windows and Baths “KIDS MAD DASH\,” where 100 kids will launch their kites all at the same time. Chosen operates two Family Closets in Waukesha and West Allis\, where it provides clothing and children’s items to families. \nThe sixth annual event features all-day admission to the zoo. Registration opens at 9 a.m. The one-mile walk begins at 10 a.m. \nThe event’s popular scavenger hunt returns\, where families can get passports stamped at stations staffed by Chosen team members and event sponsors. DESCRIPTION:Impressions is a two-person exhibition featuring the continent’s most highly regarded contemporary impressionist painters\, Samir Sammoun and John C. Traynor. Like the many Impressionist painters that came before them\, both artists work with loose\, expressive brushstrokes and focus on the effects of light. \nA colorist by nature\, Sammoun uses a rich palette to create Mediterranean landscapes. His rhythmic gestures and delicate touches make the viewer feel as if they are experiencing the painting. Traynor is a skillful painter of every genre often depicting life around him whether it is nature\, a still life\, or the people. These everyday scenes allow Traynor to connect with the viewer sparking a memory from their past or a moment in their life. \nSamir Sammoun has paintings in many private and public collections including the National Library of Canada and the Presidential Palace in Beirut\, Lebanon. John Traynor has won numerous awards including the Frank DuMond award from the Hudson Valley Art Association and the Medal of Honor from the Salmagundi Club of which he is an honorary member. In addition\, Traynor is also an inductee into the Delbarton School Hall of Honors and attained the level of Copley Master from the Copley Society of Boston.
