SUMMARY:Author Talk with Thomas Jacobson
DESCRIPTION:Tom Jacobson was born in 1938 in Bamberg\, Germany. As a child\, he and his family fled Nazi Germany aboard the MS St. Louis\, the ill-fated ship later known as the “Voyage of the Damned.” After eventually reaching the United States\, the family settled in Milwaukee. \nTom graduated from UW Law School in 1962 and went on to form Milwaukee’s first integrated law firm with Lloyd Barbee. He argued two cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and handled many of Wisconsin’s most prominent civil rights cases. \nTom retired from practicing law in 2008 and now lives in Los Angeles with his wife\, Peggy. He recently published his revised memoir\, “Underdog: Against All Odds: The Fight for Justice\,” which he’ll be discussing with us on Thursday\, November 5th. Signed copies will be available for purchase following the presentation. \nFREE Program with Museum Admission \nRegistration Encouraged | Admission to be paid at the front desk on the day of the program.
