SUMMARY:Emotionally Focused Foundations
DESCRIPTION:Friday and Saturday\, December 2nd +3rd | 8:30am-4:30pm at Vineyard Church \nEmotionally Focused Foundations is a two-day seminar that introduces you to the Emotionally Focused process. Emotionally Focused is a discipleship journey designed to help us uncover the reasons we stay stuck in habits\, sins\, anxiety\, and unhealthy patterns in our relationships. Through a combination of teaching\, coaching and spiritual practices\, Emotionally Focused offers a path to real transformation in our lives and our relationships. \nFoundations is the beginning of the Emotionally Focused journey. All participants are required to attend both days of the seminar. Upon completion of Foundations\, participants can register for the next part of the Emotionally Focused journey.\nThe cost for Foundations is $100/person\, or $200/married couple.

SUMMARY:Medical College of Wisconsin Seminar: Human Uniqueness and Life beyond Earth
DESCRIPTION:The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW)\, Marquette University and Viterbo University are co-hosting a seminar series\, Big Questions at the Intersection of Bioscience and Religion. This series is comprised of four interdisciplinary sessions\, each focused on a specific question about the human being and modeling dialogue between bioscientific and religious perspectives. Our focus questions revolve around the questions of human origin\, its essence\, its fatedness\, and its uniqueness. In an increasingly polarized world\, bridging discursive and informational divides between scientific and religious communities is urgently needed. The first session of our series will focus on the question “What is human uniqueness”. \nEach session will have a scientist and theologian to explore these conversations. Each speaker will speak for about 20-25 minutes and then work through a series of questions from the moderator before opening up to queries from the audience. \nScientist: Jennifer Wiseman\, PhD\, Astronomer and Emeritus Director of the Dialogue on Science\, Ethics\, and Religion at the American Association for the Advancement of Science\nTheologian: Jonathan Crane\, PhD\, MPhil\, MA\, Raymond F. Schinazi Scholar of Bioethics and Jewish Thought at the Ethics Center\, and Professor of Medicine and Religion at Emory University \nThis session will be held at the Medical College of Wisconsin on December 5th\, 2022\, 5:30pm-7pm.
