SUMMARY:Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:This Spring\, Milwaukee Riverkeeper will host the 28th Annual Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring Cleanup.  This massive\, one-day\, community-wide effort to clean up the waterways is unlike any other in our state. Last year alone\, 4\,000 volunteers removed more than 100\,000 pounds of trash from more than 90 locations across the watershed\, making this the largest single day cleanup event in Southeast Wisconsin. \nThis year’s cleanup takes place on Saturday\, April 22 from 9 am – 12 pm at locations along the rivers throughout Milwaukee\, Ozaukee\, and Washington Counties. This truly remarkable event engages thousands\, bringing together community groups\, businesses\, and individuals across our watershed to beautify and restore our rivers\, parks and communities. \nParticipants should register ahead of time to take part. Those interested in joining the cleanup on April 22nd can register here: bit.ly/MRKCleanup28 \n

SUMMARY:Fighting Climate Change and Saving Wilderness in Utah
DESCRIPTION:(For everyone) Among the most spectacular landscapes in the world\, Utah’s Red Rock Wilderness is also the largest network of undesignated wilderness remaining in the lower 48 states.  Retaining such healthy ecosystems is vital to address both climate change and Earth’s accelerating loss of wildlife species.  Additionally\, the region is the ancestral and current homeland of several Native American tribes and contains the largest concentration of ancient cultural sites in the country. \nThe presenter will be Clayton Daughenbaugh who is the Organizing Director for the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance\, a recipient of the Sierra Club’s highest award for national volunteer leadership\, and a resident of Chicago.  The program will include an award-winning film in the “activist short” category succinctly called “Wild Utah”. \n
