SUMMARY:Nano Stern
DESCRIPTION:Singer-songwriter Nano Stern is a Chilean artist riding the crest of the new wave of Chilean Song\, with a devoted following worldwide. Stern’s style is an indie-folk-rock-jazz fusion\, deeply rooted in traditional Chilean music and inspired by legends Violeta Parra\, Víctor Jara\, and Inti-Illimani\, yet combined with a host of influences absorbed from his travels around the world\, as well as his early classical training. Added to the mix is a love for rock and a poetic advocacy for social justice\, resulting in a truly unique sound that humbly brings audiences to reverie. \nStern’s rise to fame has been meteoric\, with a recording career spanning five years and four award-winning and critically acclaimed solo albums\, including San Diego 850\, a live 2-CD/DVD set from his 2013 concert at the Teatro Caupolicán (Santiago\, Chile). His fifth studio album\, released in 2015\, Mil 500 Vueltas\, features guests Jorge Drexler\, Susana Baca\, and Joan Baez. Stern has consistently been the stand-out new act at such festivals as WOMAD (UK\, Chile\, and Adelaide); Lincoln Center Outdoors (New York); SXSW (Texas); and Woodford Folk Festival (Australia). \n

SUMMARY:Zach Pietrini Band and Driveway Thriftdwellers
DESCRIPTION:$10 – Advance tickets available here– https://anodynecoffee.com/shop/shop/zpanddt/ \nRooted in Milwaukee\, WI\, Zach Pietrini is “the definition of an up-and-coming musician in Milwaukee” (Milwaukee Record\, 2017). The Zach Pietrini Band crafts brutally honest\, instantly familiar songs that uphold old country standards but incorporate new rock sensibilities. With the diverse approach of Gram Parsons\, the writing style of Ryan Adams\, and the live show of Jason Isbell\, they are the total Americana package. \nZach’s new record is called Holding Onto Ghosts; a loud yet vulnerable exploration into letting go of the things that haunt him. Holding Onto Ghosts is one of the “best Milwaukee albums of 2017 (so far)” (Milwaukee Record\, 2017). \nServing as direct support for bands such as Huey Lewis and the News\, Ray Wylie Hubbard and Miles Nielson it’s no wonder why The Zach Pietrini Band has been nominated twice for best band in Milwaukee by 88Nine Radio Milwaukee. Pietrini has won the Wisconsin Singer Songwriter Contest\, the Cool Notes Music Competition\, and has been featured on Wisconsin Public Radio\, the Troubadour Show (EU)\, 91.7 WMSE\, and 414 Music (88Nine Radio Milwaukee). https://zachpietrini.com/ \nMade up of veteran musicians from Madison and Milwaukee\, the Driveway Thriftdwellers draw upon their founding brothers’ Northwoods upbringing to create a no-nonsense blend of DIY classic country and Americana sensibilities. Earthy vocal harmonies and down-home pedal steel distinguish the group’s sound. The Thriftdwellers’ live shows feature a diverse mix of original music – ranging from sprawling odes about unspoiled landscapes to up-tempo bar anthems – and occasional tributes to everyone from Merle Haggard to The Replacements\, all lovingly performed with just the right amount of North Country twang. http://www.thriftdwellers.com/ \n
