DESCRIPTION:No Instructions Gallery is pleased to announce Words for Everything\, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Chicago-based artist Cody Tumblin\, opening Bay View Gallery Night\, Friday\, September 26 from 5:00–9:00 p.m. The show runs through November 7\, 2025\, with regular hours on Fridays (12–5 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m.–4 p.m.). \nCody Tumblin’s paintings are quiet celebrations of color—densely layered surfaces of painted collage and found textiles that read as tender devotions to the natural world. Motifs of shooting stars\, sprawling vines\, and constellations of hearts often appear\, woven into mosaic constructions of vibrant jewel tones and muted hues. Tumblin approaches painting as both a devotional act and a formal process that binds color to a spiritual form. Each painting can be seen as a kind of reliquary\, dedicating itself to some unseen wonder that sets its making into motion. \n

BVGN is in its 15th year and still going strong thanks to Milwaukee’s vibrant art\, music\, and small business community. \nMilwaukee makers are always a highlight for BVGN\, check out the Milwaukee Makers Market in Zillman Park (complete with food trucks and beer) and the Milwaukee Makers Marketplace in the Hide House complex which has lots to explore including Scout Gallery\, Cache Cider\, and much more. \nFood Trucks will be back in Morgan Park from 4pm – 8pm for the always family friendly Food Truck Friday event. \nOther highlights of the evening: celebrate music legend Ozzy Osbourne at Alive & Fine\, and get tons of artists all in one space at the Magnet Factory’s group show featuring 9 artists and a sneak peek of the Broken Soul Magic Portal Hunt\, an escape-room-style cooperative adventure game created by the good folks who bring you the Pumpkin Pavilion in Humboldt Park! \n
