SUMMARY:Cirque Mechanics: ZEPHYR
DESCRIPTION:Experience this breathtaking theatrical circus show that harnesses human power to generate an energetic acrobatic performance. Zephyr – A Whirlwind of Circus by Cirque Mechanics is an emotive and exhilarating tale about human ingenuity and our natural resources. \nWith their thoughtfully engineered blend of artful storytelling\, high-level acrobatics\, and fanciful contraptions\, Cirque Mechanics defies categorization. \nIn Zephyr\, they celebrate the wind power that humans have harnessed for thousands of years and the machines we’ve used to do it. A giant windmill mounted on a turntable harnesses the power and energy of people rather than the wind as performers fly\, balance\, float on air\, and defy gravity in this whirlwind circus performance. \nThis is high-flying\, eye-popping\, heart-stopping amazement geared to blow away audiences of all ages. \n

SUMMARY:You on the Moors Now
DESCRIPTION:The UWM Theatre Department’s exploration of the moors culminates with an imagined reunion of 19th-century heroines from Pride and Prejudice\, Wuthering Heights\, Jane Eyre\, and Little Women. Only this time around\, these heroines resolutely decline the advances of their famous suitors and grapple with the challenge of reconciling historical romantic ideals with their contemporary perspectives on courtship. This clever play offers an empowering perspective on a group of women who not only reject their passionate suitors but also defy the conventions and societal norms expected of them. \n
