SUMMARY:Walk on the Wild Side for Foster Care
DESCRIPTION:Chosen Inc. (“Chosen”)\, a non-profit ministry dedicated to supporting and educating about foster and adoptive parenting\, will once again fill the Milwaukee County Zoo with supporters Sept. 9 at its Walk on the Wild Side for Foster Care. \nThe event supports the ever-growing reach of Chosen\, which is dedicated to “Fostering Forever Families” through spiritual\, material\, and emotional support for families built around adoption and foster parenting. Chosen operates two Family Closets in Waukesha and West Allis\, where it provides clothing and children’s items to families. \nThe sixth annual event features all-day admission to the zoo. Registration opens at 9 a.m. The one-mile walk begins at 10 a.m. \nThe event’s popular scavenger hunt returns\, where families can get passports stamped at stations staffed by Chosen team members and event sponsors. All completed passports are eligible for prizes. Those unable to attend\, but wanting to provide support\, are encouraged to purchase and donate tickets that families can use to participate. \nParticipants in the walk receive zoo admission\, parking\, lunch\, swag bag and a T-shirt. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the grand launch of over 600 kites at noon! \nBack again\, after a long absence\, FOURCE\, a world-renowned precision kite flying team from California\, will be performing three times each day \nThe Chicago Fire kite Team will also be flying with four members for the 35th straight year.\nIn addition\, Yves Laforest and the Canadian Dream Team from Montreal\, Quebec\, will be making their 23rd appearance with their 2 large Super Giant Whale kites\, and their all new 120 ft Trilobite kite\, and the all new IKEA Heart kite\, a Mots Kite Festival Exclusive. \nConnor Doran from America’s Got Talent will be back Flying at Mots once again. Milwaukee’s own Mike Delfar and Paul Koepke\, all Professional kite flyers\, will also be performing. Free Kite Flying lessons from the Kite Whispererer\, Brett Williams and Jim Cosca. \nWe will also be giving away free kites to the first 100 kids that participate in the Mad City Windows and Baths “KIDS MAD DASH\,” where 100 kids will launch their kites all at the same time. Gift of Wings will be selling Kites and food during the event. It’s all new this Summer!! \nThis event is free to attend. \n
