SUMMARY:Ice Storm Drone Racing Competition
DESCRIPTION:WI’s only international drone racing competition over ice returns to the Pettit National Ice Center for its second year April 29-30! This popular weekend event attracts drone enthusiasts and families to see more than 60 professional drone pilots from the U.S. and as far away as Italy\, Costa Rica and South Korea racing at 120 mph over the Pettit’s ice rinks for $25\,000 in cash prizes. Local student teams will also compete. New this year for attendees on Saturday – special interactive Drone Zones where fans can meet pilots/support teams; learn how to make\, fly and repair drones; try out the Velocidrone – a virtual drone simulator\, watch drone pilots performing tricks\, learn more about drones\, robotics and rockets and much more. When a struggling young screenwriter named Joe Gillis stumbles upon her home\, Norma sees an opportunity to make a comeback and becomes increasingly dependent on him. As their relationship and her obsession deepens\, the lines between reality and delusion begin to blur\, and the consequences of Norma’s obsession become deadly. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award-winning masterwork of dreams and desire in the land called Hollywood includes the lush\, swelling standards “With One Look\,” “As If We Never Said Goodbye” and “Perfect Year.” Sunset Boulevard will run from April 21 to May 7. \n

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate International Jazz Day with us at our first annual event! \nJoin us at Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel for a free event featuring performances by MJI youth ensembles\, a presentation on the history of jazz in Milwaukee\, a display of iconic Milwaukee jazz photos\, and an MJI faculty performance. \nBut that’s not all! We’ll also be taking “A Great Day in MKE” photo\, as a nod to the famous “A Great Day in Harlem” photo by Art Kane for Esquire magazine in 1958. Musicians of all ages and levels are encouraged to meet in the River Center atrium to be a part of the photo. \nTo cap off the event there will be a community jam session open to musicians and listeners of all ages\, and the lighting of the Hoan Bridge with nine colors to replicate the International Jazz Day logo. \nAs a passionate advocate for jazz music and its ability to enrich and unify communities\, MJI is thrilled to bring together the Milwaukee community in celebration of International Jazz Day. \nDon’t miss out on this incredible event! \n
