SUMMARY:In a Place of Dreams - Closing Reception at Lily Pad Gallery West
DESCRIPTION:Lily Pad | West is pleased to present “In a Place of Dreams” a solo exhibition of Canadian artist France Jodoin. \n“Nothing I paint is real. I like to say the buildings\, places and people are like actors without the script. I leave the rest to the imagination of the viewer.”\n-France Jodoin \nFrance Jodoin’s fantastical landscapes blur the lines between air\, land and sea. Shrouded in mist and muted color\, suggestions of people\, ships and buildings create frameworks for imaginations to run wild. Composed of fragments from the artist’s memory\, both real and imagined\, the worlds created by France Jodoin spark a suggestion of a simpler time with a slower pace. \nJodoin’s work is held in both private and public collections\, including the Sherbrooke Museum of Fine Arts and Cirque du Soleil. Jodoin lives and works in a small town nestled in the forests of southern Quebec. \nWe invite you to join us for an opening reception in March\, followed by Gallery Night MKE in April. France Jodoin will be visiting the gallery over April Gallery Night MKE. \nWork on Display February 28 – April 30 \n
