Grab a seat\, find a table\, or bring your own picnic blanket—and relax with family and friends outdoors throughout the summer. Visitors of all ages are invited to create art\, catch live programming\, and enjoy refreshments in this space where the Museum hugs Lake Michigan. Weather permitting\, Lakeside at MAM will be open with free admission during Museum hours.\nDrop by the Kohl’s Art Studio tents on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Friday–Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a kids’ painting activity inspired by the paintings in “Americans in Spain” and the architecture of the Museum. \nBring a blanket and umbrella to create your own comfortable space on the grass\, and complete your picnic with fresh-made eats and treats for sale—purchase hamburgers\, hotdogs\, MAM pops\, and bottled water from the cart on the lawn; or step into the East End to order portable sandwiches\, salads\, sweets\, and adult beverages. \nSupporting sponsor: BMO Harris Bank \n

DESCRIPTION:A wintry story in a summery setting! Shakespeare’s pastoral fairy tale features a mad king\, a long-lost princess\, a living statue\, true love\, song and dance… and a bear? It’s up to six brave actors and an imaginative audience to bring it all together and give these characters the happy ending they deserve! \nEach Summit Players performance is an accessible 75-minute show preceded by a 45-minute educational workshop\, entitled “Inside Shakespeare’s Story: The Winter’s Tale\,” offered to kids and “fun adults.” The workshop starts at 5:30 p.m.\, the show starts at 7:00 p.m.\, and both are completely FREE! \n
