DESCRIPTION:VIRTUAL EVENT | Thursday\, April 22 – April 26 \nWe Need Help With The Dishes\, is Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin’s virtual annual fundraiser supporting our mission to end hunger in our community. On a daily basis\, we see the devastation in our communities and it breaks our hearts. But our commitment to our mission to solve hunger gives us strength. We will not give up\, but we cannot do this alone. With your help\, we will be able to support our families in need through the pandemic and after. Since the pandemic began\, we have distributed 81% more food compared to 2019 \nSince the pandemic began\, you’ve provided 40 million meals to our community.\nYour support is critical. There has been a 40% increase in the number of neighbors in need. This includes children who no longer have access to free or reduced school lunches. \nWe are asking for your Help With The Dishes by donating or bidding on auction items and experiences. Through your support\, you will ensure that our families in the community will receive healthy\, wholesome food.\nWe hope that we can count on you. \n

SUMMARY:Celebrate the Earth!
DESCRIPTION:Spend a day celebrating the Earth by participating in educational activities around the Center. Set your own pace as you visit different stations around the property. Naturalists will be at each station to teach you about problems and solutions that face various aspects of nature with an assortment of activities. This includes collecting and sorting litter on the shores of Lake Michigan\, searching for macro-invertebrates in the ponds\, learning how to identify native and migrating birds in a citizen science project\, and making an eco-friendly craft to take home. \nPrior to the event\, you will receive a PDF of the description and locations of the activities on our trail map. \nThis program will take place entirely outdoors. We will practice social distancing when we are able to\, but because of the nature of small-group programming\, it will not always be possible. For the health and safety of all\, participants must wear a mask when you are within six feet of others. Please do not attend if you are sick or believe you have been exposed to the virus.
