DESCRIPTION:Scott Schiller\, an accomplished map illustrator and graphic artist\, presents “Drawn to Maps: A Celebration of Pictorial and Illustrated Maps” on Sunday\, October 13\, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the American Geographical Society Library\, located on the third floor east wing of the UWM Golda Meir Library\, 2311 E. Hartford Ave.\, Milwaukee. \nBased in Brookfield\, Wisconsin\, Schiller creates custom illustrated maps for clients around the world\, appearing in magazines\, books\, business marketing\, travel outlets\, schools\, wedding invitations\, and more. \nSchiller will present a wide variety of illustrated maps from the past and present\, and speak about his own approach and process\, as well as some of his upcoming projects. Displayed alongside examples of his work will be a variety of pictorial maps from the AGS Library. \nSchiller’s work can be seen online as well at mapsbyscott.com. \nThere is a reception at 1:30 p.m.\, with the talk beginning at 2 p.m. \nFree and open to the public.
