PARK(ing) Day was founded by the Rebar Group\, Inc\, a San Francisco art and design studio\, in 2005 to raise awareness of the need for public spaces for pedestrians to enhance the quality of urban life. This annual world wide event is an experiment in reclaiming public space for people. \n
