SUMMARY:StorySlam: Reunion
DESCRIPTION:Ex Fabula StorySlams connect Milwaukee through true\, personal stories. No props\, no notes – just real stories told by real people. This StorySlam will feature stories related to the theme of Reunion: stories of gatherings: family\, school\, and long lost loves. \nYou can come just to listen – or\, if you have a story related to the night’s theme and can share it in 5 minutes or less\, throw your name in the hat for a chance to take the stage. Another way to share stories is via UltraShorts\, which are brief\, true personal stories written on slips of paper and then read onstage by the emcee. At the end of the night\, the audience votes and an Audience Favorite is crowned. \nPlease note that for Ex Fabula’s monthly StorySlams\, doors open at 6:30 and seating is General Admission. Stories may contain adult content and some venues are 21+. \nTicket Price: $10 in advance\, $12 at the door \n

SUMMARY:Wisconsin Suffrage & Education Presented by Priscilla Pardini
DESCRIPTION:Wisconsin Humanities Council is sponsoring a series of FREE presentations at the Chudnow Museum of Yesteryear in coordination with the museum’s Forward Wisconsin Women exhibit. \nAs a state largely populated by new American immigrants\, Milwaukee grew its own identity concerning issues of schoooling\, labor unions and public betterment. Wisconsin’s 1848 State Constitution was passed without giving women the vote. Having been unable to persuade the conventnion\, women immediatley set to change that. Theses suffragists found local allies in reform movements like the tent Chattaquas. \n
