DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 13th annual Danceworks Mad Hot Ballroom Competition on Thursday\, May 9th\, 2019! \nThis incredible celebration will show off the hard work of over 1\,000 fifth and sixth grade students from 47 Milwaukee area schools\, as they compete in three styles of ballroom dance as part of Danceworks Mad Hot. \nThe public is invited to the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena (400 W. Kilbourn Ave. in Milwaukee) beginning at 10:00am to cheer on students\, with finals and awards beginning at 11:45 a.m. The Danceworks Mad Hot Ballroom Competition is completely free and open to the public\, and guests are welcome to join at any time. \nUW-Milwaukee Panther Arena and Wisconsin Center District are part of a smoke and tobacco-free neighborhood. \n

DESCRIPTION:Join us for Decoding the Driftless\, a wild ride of adventure above\, on\, and below Wisconsin’s amazing Driftless Region! Emmy-winning filmmakers George Howe\, Tim Jacobson\, Rob Nelson\, and Neil Rettig have teamed up with Jonas Stenstrom of Untamed Science\, to capture fantastic footage of the Driftless Region\, and weave it into a compelling story. You’ll soar over ancient rugged bluffs\, skim the surface of primordial rivers\, venture deep underground to mysterious secret worlds\, marvel at sacred archeological treasures\, and hang perilously over massive rock cliffs. The film shares the regions unique ecosystems and talks about current conservation efforts. \nProducer George Howe will introduce the film and take questions after the screening. This event is co-presented with Outpost Natural Foods. The event is free to all\, but registration is required. \n
