SUMMARY:The Last Cyclist
DESCRIPTION:Reconstructed and reimagined by Naomi Patz\, “The Last Cyclist” is based on a 1944 cabaret\, written by Karel Svenk in the Terezìn Concentration Camp. The scathing satire was shut down before it could be performed\, not surprising given its not-so-subtle political and emotional commentary. In this unique and provocative performance on the Nancy Kendall Theater stage\, spectators are invited inside the makeshift rehearsal space to bear witness to a show that never had an audience. \n

SUMMARY:The King and I
DESCRIPTION:Two worlds collide in this “breathtaking and exquisite” (The New York Times) musical\, based on the 2015 Tony Award®-winning Lincoln Center Theater production. One of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s finest works\, THE KING AND I boasts a score that features such beloved classics as “Getting To Know You\,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune\,” “Hello Young Lovers\,” “Shall We Dance” and “Something Wonderful.” \nSet in 1860’s Bangkok\, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens\, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King\, in an imperialistic world\, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children. THE KING AND I is “too beautiful to miss” (New York Magazine). \n“I doubt I’ll see a better production in my lifetime.” – THE WALL STREET JOURNAL \n“Five stars. Grand and glorious.” — TIME OUT NEW YORK \n“A landmark production and a shot of purest rapture. I never wanted it to end.”\n— THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER \n“Absolutely stunning.” — VARIETY \n“Magnificent. A sweepingly romantic production. How good to be getting to know the show all over again.” — NEWSDAY \n
