DESCRIPTION:Hal Rammel is a Cedarburg-based visual artist and photographer who has explored a wide variety of cameraless and alternative process photography for many decades. In this exhibition\, Rammel explores the unique possibilities of stereo photography utilizing his original pinhole cameras and a unique cameraless photogram process of his own invention. \nThe opening reception is free and open to the public. Richly influenced by European gypsy musicians\, the Wail blends an eclectic array of styles – Django Reinhardt inspired jazz\, Eastern European gypsy swing\, American jazz standards\, and contemporary folk – to create their own distinctive sound. The intoxicating vocals\, enticing arrangements\, and sheer joy that Sims Delaney Potthoff\, Maggie Delaney Potthoff (a Hartford native!)\, and Jeffo Weiss bring to every performance is downright addictive. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:Milwaukee’s newest holiday favorite\, Black Nativity by Langston Hughes is a testament to the power of gospel music\, telling the story of the Nativity through a combination of African American scripture\, poetry\, dance\, and song. \n“Black Nativity is an opportunity to use our recent stories to represent the storytellers\, our neighbors\, leaders\, future leaders\, everyday working folks\, activists\, warriors\, and friends who desire to tell the good news of hope. These same people have stories of those who have overcome all odds to be the light and catalyst for change in their communities” says Director Malkia Stampley. \nFeaturing many new talented local cast members\, this year’s production is presented by Bronzeville Arts Ensemble\, and features choreographer Christopher Gilbert\, and music direction by Antoine Reynolds. \nBlack Nativity by Langston Hughes is a collaboration between Black Arts MKE and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. \n
